NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Saturday declared the results of the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026, marking the first year of the two-exam system introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Students can access their results through the DigiLocker Results Portal using their login credentials. CBSE said the additional examination provides Class 10 students with an opportunity to improve their performance after the main board examination.

The second board examination was conducted from May 15 to May 21, following the main board examination held between February 17 and March 11.

According to CBSE, 664,027 students registered for the second examination, while 663,777 appeared.

Of those, 513,955 students took the examination to improve their scores from the main board examination. CBSE said 308,095 students, or 59.95%, succeeded in improving their performance.

Another 149,822 students appeared under the compartment category, with 78,503 clearing the examination, resulting in a pass percentage of 52.40%.

After taking into account the better performance across both examinations, the overall pass percentage for Class 10 students in 2026 stood at 96.78%, the board said.

CBSE said that for regular students who appeared in both examinations, the higher score from the two attempts would be treated as the final result.

The board said students enrolled in CBSE-affiliated schools overseas can also access their results and digital academic documents through DigiLocker. Schools will receive student results through their registered email addresses and will be able to download digital academic records from the CBSE repository.

Printed mark sheets-cum-passing certificates for regular students, including those studying in CBSE-affiliated schools abroad, will be distributed through their respective schools.

Private candidates will receive their digital academic documents through DigiLocker, while printed certificates will be dispatched to their registered postal addresses. Candidates under the Delhi East and Delhi West regional offices can collect printed documents from their designated examination centres.

CBSE also cautioned students and parents against relying on unverified social media posts, rumours or unofficial sources for result-related information. It said all official announcements would be issued only through its authorised communication channels, and students requiring assistance may contact CBSE regional offices or official helplines.
