Kuwait: Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said the fire occurred in one of the components of the power and water desalination plant.

In a statement, the ministry said the incident required precautionary operational measures, including disconnecting several generating units to ensure the safety of the plant and its workers while maintaining the stability of the electrical grid.

The ministry confirmed that all operational and emergency plans were activated immediately after the incident.

It added that the measures helped ensure the continuity and stability of both the electricity and water networks, while limiting any potential impact on services.

Technical and operational monitoring is continuing around the clock, the ministry said.
