BENGALURU : An Ahmedabad-bound IndiGo flight from Bengaluru was delayed by more than five hours after a hoax bomb note was discovered on board the aircraft on Thursday evening, airline sources said.
According to the sources, IndiGo flight 6E 6423, scheduled to depart for Ahmedabad at 8 pm, was immediately grounded for security checks after the note was found.
“A hoax bomb note was discovered on IndiGo flight 6E 6423 (BLR-AMD) scheduled to depart at 20:00 hrs. All standard operating procedures and security protocols were strictly followed,” airline sources told ANI.
Following a comprehensive security sweep and completion of all mandatory safety checks, the aircraft was cleared for operations.
The flight eventually departed for Ahmedabad at 1:21 am on Friday.
