Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, said the Islamic Republic has approached every round of negotiations with “meticulousness and seriousness,” while keeping in mind the interests and concerns of the Iranian nation.

Speaking to reporters in Tehran, Baghaei said Iran has acted in good faith whenever an understanding has been reached and has remained serious in fulfilling its commitments.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has never been the first to violate its commitments,” he said.

Baghaei warned that Iran would stop adhering to the memorandum of understanding signed with the US if Washington fails to meet its commitments to end the war.

He added that Tehran’s position has remained consistent whenever the other side has failed to honour its obligations.

“Each time the other party has failed to meet its obligations, we did not uphold ours. We will continue to act in this manner,” Baghaei said.
