BEIJING: Typhoon Bavi made landfall in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province after sweeping past northern Taiwan and the isolated southern islands of Japan, state media reported.
According to Xinhua News Agency, citing the Zhejiang Meteorological Department, the typhoon reached the coastal city of Yuhuan, packing winds of up to 145 kilometers per hour.
Authorities said the storm is expected to continue moving northwest while gradually weakening. No damage or injuries have been reported so far.

Officials have warned residents in coastal areas to remain alert as heavy rainfall, flash floods, thunderstorms and transportation disruptions are expected in the coming hours.
Emergency teams have been placed on standby as local authorities continue to monitor the storm’s path and ensure the safety of affected communities.
