33 people missing after landslide in China

Chinese authorities said 33 people remain missing and 17 others have been rescued following a landslide that struck a village in northwest China.

BEIJING : The landslide occurred in the Nanhe township of Longnan city in Gansu province, according to the official Chinese news agency Xinhua.

Rescue teams are continuing search and recovery operations in the affected area, while authorities have started evacuating and relocating residents impacted by the landslide.


The cause of the landslide has not yet been determined.
