MUSCAT – The authority said the provision is designed to speed up claim settlements, simplify compensation procedures and improve the quality of services provided to policyholders.
Under the right of recourse, an affected party with comprehensive motor insurance can file a compensation claim directly with their own insurance company, allowing them to receive compensation more efficiently without unnecessary procedural delays.
The FSA outlined the process for activating the right of recourse, advising policyholders to first open a claim with the insurance company of the driver responsible for the accident before submitting the claim to their own insurer.
