MUSCAT – The two-week campaign, launched on June 22, 2026, was implemented across social media platforms with the participation of the Royal Oman Police, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and the Ministry of Social Development. It forms part of the Ministry’s 2025 developmental initiatives under the framework ‘Towards a National Framework for Engaging with Social Media’.
The campaign focused on raising public awareness of positive digital behaviour, encouraging responsible use of online platforms, and reducing harmful practices, particularly among young people, through educational content addressing legal, technical, social, educational, and family aspects of the digital space.
The initiative comes in response to the rapid global expansion of digital platforms and their growing influence on public awareness and behaviour, underscoring the need to strengthen digital culture and promote conscious and safe online engagement.

Key awareness messages highlighted respect for laws governing social media use, the importance of protecting privacy and personal data, and strengthening digital security. The campaign also emphasised the role of families in guiding children towards balanced and responsible use of technology.
The participating entities contributed specialised content within a unified framework. The Ministry of Information focused on media awareness and the impact of online content on children, while the Royal Oman Police addressed legal risks and responsible use of social media. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority highlighted cybersecurity and data protection practices, and the Ministry of Social Development focused on family cohesion, dialogue, and positive values in digital engagement.
The campaign relied on short-form digital content tailored for social media platforms to ensure wide reach and engagement. Organisers also monitored interaction through the hashtag #Tabseer, along with engagement metrics across platforms, to assess impact and inform future awareness initiatives.
The campaign reflects ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Information and its partners to build a more conscious digital society capable of using modern technologies positively and responsibly in line with Oman’s national development goals.
