MUSCAT – The agreement reflects both entities’ commitment to strengthening cooperation and enhancing their institutional partnership in a manner that supports achieving their shared objectives and unifies efforts to benefit from academic and research expertise in advancing sustainable development and developing initiatives.
It aims to coordinate efforts between the two parties to achieve their common purposes through an agreed action plan encompassing education, scientific research, and training, supporting development programmes, and exchanging expertise. Thereby it boosts capacity and innovation, improves institutional performance, and contributes to advancing high-quality solutions that support local development and achieve the intended objectives efficiently and effectively.
The programme comprises implementing various joint initiatives and programmes across several fields. They include conducting training courses, workshops and specialised programmes that serve competencies of both parties, supporting research activities undertaken by the University in the developmental and environmental sectors of Muscat Governorate through applied projects and analytical studies. As well as, supporting the organisation of hackathons and innovation initiatives relating to progress challenges, collaborating to identify sector-specific challenges and incorporate them into students’ graduation projects, developing human resources through conducting training programmes and workshops, and exchanging hosting of officials from both entities to participate in training programmes that contribute to skills enhancement and capacity strengthening.
