Labour Ministry steps up Dhofar inspections to enforce midday work ban

The Ministry of Labour has intensified field inspection campaigns in Dhofar Governorate to ensure private sector employers comply with the nationwide ban on outdoor work during midday hours.

MUSCAT – The inspections, carried out by the Ministry’s Directorate General of Labour in Dhofar, targeted establishments across Shalim, Marmul, Nimr, Amal, Al Noor and Harweel.

The campaigns are aimed at verifying compliance with the ministerial decision prohibiting work in open areas during the designated midday period in the summer months.

The Directorate stressed that employers must strictly adhere to the specified working hours to safeguard the health and safety of workers, warning that legal action will be taken against establishments found violating the regulation.

According to the Ministry, the inspected areas have a workforce of 16,792 employees, including 9,028 Omani nationals and 7,764 expatriate workers.
