MUSCAT – According to the latest forecast, moderate thunderstorms are expected to develop over parts of the Hajar Mountains and surrounding areas from 10 pm on Saturday, July 4, with the potential for scattered rainfall during the evening.
The authority has also warned of active winds beginning from 9 am, affecting Al Jazer, Duqm, Ja’alan Bani Bu Hassan, Ja’alan Bani Bu Ali, Sadah, Shalim and the Hallaniyat Islands, Mahout, Mirbat, Mazyona and Al Hammah. The moderate-intensity winds could lead to reduced visibility in exposed areas and rough sea conditions along affected coastal regions.
In addition, a rain alert has been issued for the evening of July 6, with light rainfall expected over parts of the Dhofar Governorate coastline.

For today, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy along the coast and adjacent mountains of Dhofar Governorate, with intermittent drizzle. Elsewhere in the Sultanate, conditions will remain generally clear, although cloud build-up with isolated afternoon and evening showers is possible over the Hajar Mountains.
Low clouds or fog are also expected to develop late at night and during the early morning over parts of Al Wusta Governorate.
