MUSCAT – ‘Stay in your lane; do not overtake using the road shoulder’, the Directorate General of Traffic of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said in a public advisory, stressing that road shoulders are designated exclusively for emergency situations and should not be used for overtaking or bypassing traffic.
The police said overtaking via the road shoulder disrupts the safe flow of traffic, poses a serious threat to other road users, and significantly raises the likelihood of road accidents.
