MUSCAT : The initiative, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA), aims to provide medical treatment for eligible Zakat beneficiaries in private health institutions across the Sultanate of Oman, while promoting social solidarity and improving access to healthcare services.

Registration for the programme will open on Sunday, July 5, 2026, and continue until August 20, 2026, with treatment procedures scheduled to begin in September 2026.

Eligible applicants include Zakat beneficiaries registered with the MERA in various wilayats, provided that their cases are referred by specialist doctors in government health institutions and that the required medical services are available in private healthcare facilities.

Applications can be submitted through the ‘Zakat Beneficiaries Treatment Initiative’ portal on the Ministry of Health’s electronic platform or via Zakat committees affiliated with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.

The initiative covers surgical procedures and diagnostic radiology services, while excluding cosmetic and rehabilitative cases. It seeks to reduce waiting lists in government hospitals, enhance public-private partnerships, and strengthen cooperation with charitable and endowment institutions.
