LONDON : Oman and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic relations and supporting efforts to ensure the security of maritime navigation, including through the Strait of Hormuz, amid ongoing regional developments.
During a meeting in London, Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper reviewed the deep-rooted partnership between the two countries and discussed ways to further expand cooperation across a range of sectors.
The two ministers highlighted the strength of Oman-UK relations and expressed their shared determination to deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest, building on longstanding political, economic and security ties.

They also exchanged views on regional developments, stressing the importance of preventive diplomacy, dialogue and de-escalation efforts to preserve stability in the region.
According to Oman’s Foreign Ministry, both sides underscored the need to safeguard maritime security, ensure freedom of navigation and maintain the uninterrupted movement of international trade and supply chains.
