MUSCAT – The operation of the Muscat LNG tanker, owned by Asyad Shipping Company, represents a significant addition to Oman’s LNG export capabilities and highlights the integration of national efforts across the energy, logistics and maritime transport sectors.
It marks a new milestone that strengthens Oman’s position in global energy supply chains and reinforces its role as a reliable energy supplier.
The tanker, one of the latest LNG carriers designed according to international standards in operational efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability, is equipped with advanced technologies, including dual-fuel propulsion systems that help reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency.

Oman LNG said the first shipment reflects its commitment to supplying international markets with energy safely and reliably while supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to strengthen the Sultanate’s role as a regional and global hub for energy and logistics.
Hamed Al Naamany, CEO of Oman LNG, said the first shipment aboard Muscat LNG represents an important milestone in enhancing Oman’s LNG export capabilities and reflects the strength of national partnerships, including cooperation with Asyad Shipping.
He added that the operation of the vessel demonstrates the readiness of Oman’s integrated energy system to meet growing global demand while improving the efficiency and sustainability of maritime transport services.
The arrival of Muscat LNG marks the first of two LNG tankers scheduled to be received at Oman LNG’s industrial complex, with the second vessel expected to arrive in July. The development supports Oman’s efforts to enhance the energy value chain through investments in LNG production, maritime transport and global supply networks.
Established in 1994, Oman LNG is one of the Sultanate’s leading energy companies, producing and exporting liquefied natural gas to international markets while contributing to economic development and the diversification of national income sources.
The investment fund of the Oman LNG Development Foundation owns a 10 per cent stake in the national carrier Muscat LNG, reflecting its commitment to supporting strategic investments in the energy, logistics and maritime transport sectors.
