MUSCAT — Oman and Qatar held high-level talks in Muscat on Wednesday focusing on regional developments, diplomatic efforts to ease tensions, and ensuring the continued security of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the Oman News Agency, Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss regional and international issues and ways to address them through closer coordination and cooperation between the two countries.
The ministers reviewed ongoing political and diplomatic efforts aimed at containing tensions and strengthening dialogue, while emphasizing the importance of coordinating positions on key regional developments.

The talks also focused on recent developments concerning maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic global shipping route through which a significant share of the world’s oil and energy supplies pass.
Both sides underscored the need to ensure the uninterrupted flow of trade and energy shipments in accordance with international law, stressing the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation and safeguarding the interests of the international community.
