MUSCAT – The agreement was signed between Oman’s Asyad Ports and Free Zones, a subsidiary of Asyad Group, and Sudan’s Sea Ports Corporation during a meeting between His Excellency Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and His Excellency Saif Al Nasr Al Tijani, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Sudan.

The discussions focused on expanding joint cooperation in transport, ports and logistics, as well as exploring opportunities that serve the mutual interests of both countries.

The memorandum aims to enhance collaboration in port development, maritime transport and logistics services, while supporting supply chain development and strengthening maritime integration between Oman and Sudan.

It includes provisions for exchanging expertise in port planning, infrastructure development and maritime facilities, along with joint training programmes, workshops, technical exchanges and mutual visits between specialists from both sides.

The agreement also covers cooperation in digital transformation and the adoption of modern technologies in port management and operations to improve efficiency and enhance service quality.

The memorandum was signed by Omar bin Mahmoud Al Mahrizi, CEO of Asyad Ports and Free Zones, and by Engineer Gilani Mohamed Gilani, Director of the Sea Ports Corporation of Sudan.
