MUSCAT – The operation was carried out by judicial officers from the Anti-Commercial Fraud Department, who confiscated products deemed harmful to children’s health and safety.
The seized items included 55 boxes of cigarette-like candies designed to imitate smoking behaviour and 387 boxes of syringe-shaped candies. Authorities withdrew all violating products from the market and confiscated them pending further legal action.
According to the CPA, the products were found at a number of commercial establishments in Muscat Governorate during inspection campaigns aimed at ensuring compliance with consumer protection regulations and safety standards.
The authority stated that the case has been referred to the competent authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures against the violating establishments.
