MUSCAT – Oman’s Ahmad Al Harthy is aiming to carry the momentum of his breakthrough podium finish at Monza into this weekend’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, the biggest and most prestigious race on the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup calendar.

The legendary endurance race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, widely regarded as the crown jewel of global GT3 racing, will feature a packed grid of 70 cars and promises another stern test for the Oman Racing by Century Motorsport team.

Al Harthy arrives in Belgium buoyed by a strong result at Monza earlier this month, where he and teammates Calan Williams and Javier Sagrera fought back from eighth in the Bronze Cup to finish third in class. The trio also climbed from 47th overall on the grid to an impressive 13th place overall, strengthening their position in the championship standings.

The result leaves the team fifth in the Bronze Cup standings, just five points shy of the top three heading into the season’s most demanding race.

For the twice-around-the-clock endurance contest, the team has expanded its driver line-up with Brazilian racer Pedro Ebrahim joining Al Harthy, Williams and Sagrera in the BMW machinery.

Spa-Francorchamps holds special significance for Al Harthy, who has enjoyed some of the biggest successes of his international GT career at the iconic Belgian circuit. In 2019, the Omani driver secured a memorable Pro-Am class victory after starting from the pit lane, while he also claimed a podium finish in the event two years earlier.

Speaking ahead of the race weekend, Al Harthy said he was excited to return to a venue that has delivered many career highlights.

“It’s amazing to be back at Spa for the 24 Hours. It is by far the biggest GT3 race in the world and an event where we have enjoyed a lot of success over the years,” he said.

“The performance and result at Monza was fantastic. While we didn’t have the quickest package, our teamwork and strategy made the difference. That will be crucial again this weekend, along with reliability, and we’ll use every session available to prepare for the toughest race of the season.”

Preparations for the event begin with testing on Tuesday, followed by the traditional parade of race cars through Spa city centre on Wednesday. Qualifying and night practice will take place on Thursday before Friday’s Superpole session, featuring the 20 fastest cars from qualifying.

The 2026 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa is expected to attract a global audience as teams battle for one of the most coveted victories in endurance racing.
