NEW YORK — Qatar snatched a dramatic late equaliser through Boualem Khoukhi, whose stoppage-time header secured a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in Group B of the FIFA World Cup on Saturday.
Switzerland appeared set for victory after dominating much of the contest, but Khoukhi rose highest in the fourth minute of added time to head home and rescue a point for Qatar.
The late goal sparked jubilant scenes among the Qatari players, with several collapsing to the ground in celebration while others rushed to embrace teammates as the final whistle approached.
