MUSCAT – The CDAA confirmed its full readiness to operate the station with qualified national personnel specialising in water search and rescue and emergency medical services, noting that all necessary operational and technical procedures have been completed to ensure continuous 24-hour service delivery.
The station’s operational system includes specialised search and rescue teams trained to respond to various marine accidents and missing persons cases, in addition to water rescue units equipped with modern tools and technologies to operate in different marine environments. It also includes ambulance teams qualified to provide emergency medical care and transport patients in accordance with approved procedures.
The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority said the operation of the station aligns with its ongoing efforts to enhance response capabilities for maritime incidents and improve field readiness, in line with the growing maritime, tourism and economic activities in the Sultanate of Oman.
The authority added that it continues to implement training and qualification programmes for its personnel and to develop field operations systems to ensure rapid response and effective performance in various emergencies.
It said the transfer of operational duties represents an important step in strengthening Oman’s maritime safety system by consolidating rescue efforts under a single authority, thereby enhancing readiness and improving the protection of lives and property across marine locations.
