MUSCAT: Ahmad Al Harthy, Oman’s most internationally recognised racing driver, delivered another milestone moment for regional motorsport after securing a dramatic podium finish at the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in Monza, Italy.

Representing Oman Racing by Century Motorsport in the No.42 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Al Harthy and his teammates, Calan Williams and Javier Sagrera, mounted an impressive fightback from eighth in class to finish third following a dramatic and incident-filled endurance race.

By the chequered flag, the BMW M4 GT3 EVO had gained an impressive 34 positions overall to finish 13th outright and third in the Bronze Cup category.

The result marks the team’s first podium finish of the 2026 season and reinforces Al Harthy’s position as one of the Middle East’s most prominent international racing drivers and currently the only Arab driver competing globally with BMW M Motorsport in GT competition.

Ahmad Al Harthy said: “I’m really happy to be back on the podium and it’s especially meaningful for it to happen again at Monza. It was a true team effort from start to finish. Thanks to consistency and our strong strategy, we managed to put ourselves in a position to fight for a podium.

“To once again see the Oman flag on the podium at Monza is something I’m incredibly proud of. This circuit has given us some very special memories over the years and this result is an important boost for the championship as well.”

Rachid Zamani, Managing Director of Al Jenaibi International Automobiles, the official importer of BMW Group vehicles in Oman, said: “Ahmad Al Harthy continues to be an incredible ambassador for Oman and for BMW M Motorsport on the global stage. This podium finish at Monza reflects not only his exceptional talent and determination, but also the growing presence of Omani and Middle Eastern motorsport within international racing. We are extremely proud to support Ahmad and the team on their journey and to see the Oman flag represented so strongly at one of the world’s most iconic racing circuits.”

The podium finish continues Al Harthy’s long-standing relationship with BMW M Motorsport and further highlights the growing visibility of Omani and Middle Eastern talent on the global motorsport stage.
