MUSCAT : The consultations form part of the ongoing cooperation between Oman and the IMF and are aimed at assessing economic developments, supporting sustainable growth, and strengthening financial stability.
During the visit, IMF representatives will hold a series of meetings with officials and specialists from the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, and several government entities and private sector institutions.
The discussions will focus on reviewing economic, financial, and monetary developments in Oman, assessing growth prospects and financial sector resilience, and examining the potential impact of regional and global economic trends on the national economy.
Meetings will also focus on fiscal and monetary policies, labour market developments, social protection initiatives, progress in implementing economic and financial stimulus programs, and priorities for the next phase of economic reforms.
The consultations serve as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of views on policies aimed at enhancing economic resilience, maintaining financial stability, and supporting long-term sustainable growth.
The IMF mission is scheduled to conclude its visit on June 15, when it will present its preliminary findings to the relevant authorities before issuing its final statement.
