One killed, 63 injured as missile and drone strikes hit Kuwait airport

One person was killed and several others were injured after a number of drones targeted Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, causing significant damage to key facilities within the airport complex.

KUWAIT : According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attack struck vital infrastructure at the airport, prompting an immediate response from security and emergency authorities.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, said that several drones targeted Terminal 1 (T1), the airport’s main passenger terminal. The attack resulted in extensive material damage to parts of the building and disrupted normal operations.

Colonel Al-Atwan stated that the Kuwaiti Armed Forces are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with relevant authorities. He affirmed that all security agencies remain on high alert and are fully prepared to address any developments.

Authorities have launched assessments of the damage and are taking necessary measures to safeguard public safety and maintain the country’s security and stability. Further details regarding the attack and those responsible have not yet been announced.
