New Delhi: The forged notice, dated May 23, 2026, alleged that the board had scrapped the re-evaluation process due to “unprecedented technical challenges” affecting its online system. However, CBSE clarified that the circular is fake and urged students and parents to rely only on official announcements issued through its verified platforms and website.
The board warned against rumours spreading online and reiterated that all genuine concerns regarding scanned answer sheets, verification requests, and re-evaluation applications will be addressed through the prescribed official process.
CBSE further stated that its online portal witnessed heavy traffic following the release of board examination results, with lakhs of students simultaneously accessing the system to apply for scanned answer books and verification services. This led to temporary slowdowns, delays in payment processing, and difficulties in downloading answer sheet copies.

To manage the surge in demand, CBSE announced that the last date for applying for scanned answer books has been extended until May 24, 2026. The board also said its systems have now been strengthened to handle the increased traffic more efficiently.
Reassuring students and parents, CBSE said it remains committed to ensuring fairness, transparency, and accuracy in both evaluation and re-evaluation procedures. The board added that all valid grievances will be carefully reviewed by subject experts through the official mechanism.
