MUSCAT — Temperatures across several parts of Oman continued to climb on Thursday, with Dima Wattayeen recording the highest temperature in the Sultanate at 45.2°C over the past 24 hours, according to data released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The latest readings mark a noticeable increase from Wednesday, when the highest recorded temperature stood at 43.5°C in the same area, reflecting a sharp rise of 1.7 degrees Celsius within a day.
Several other regions also witnessed intense heat on Thursday, including Fahud at 44.9°C, Shinas at 44.6°C, Sohar at 44.5°C, Rustaq at 44.2°C and Barka at 44°C.

On Wednesday, the highest temperatures after Dima Wattayeen were recorded in Mahout at 43.1°C, Bidiyah and Al Qabil at 42.7°C, and Al Mudhaibi and Jalan Bani Bu Hassan at 42.6°C.
The continued rise in temperatures comes as Oman moves deeper into the summer season, with inland and desert regions typically experiencing extreme daytime heat during this period.
The CAA has advised the public to take precautions during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, particularly in areas witnessing extreme heat levels.
