MUSCAT: In a public health advisory issued ahead of Hajj, the Directorate called on diabetic and asthma patients to ensure they pack all essential medicines and medical supplies to help them perform rituals safely and comfortably.
For pilgrims with diabetes, health authorities advised carrying a blood glucose meter, insulin, prescribed medications, emergency snacks, a medical report, a health status card, and comfortable footwear. The Directorate also warned pilgrims to pay close attention to symptoms of low blood sugar, including sudden sweating, dizziness, trembling, and extreme fatigue.
The advisory stressed that such symptoms should not be ignored, urging pilgrims experiencing signs of hypoglycaemia to immediately visit the nearest medical clinic in Makkah for prompt treatment.
