MUSCAT : The municipality said regulating building facade painting in line with approved standards contributes to harmonising Muscat’s urban landscape and reflects the city’s architectural character and visual identity.
It further explained that the process for securing an external painting permit is “easy and quick,” with approvals issued within just one day, encouraging residents and businesses to comply with the regulations before starting painting works.
The municipality also outlined the requirements for obtaining the permit, including submission of a copy of the property ownership document and survey plan, two photographs showing the proposed paint sample and colour code, and a copy of the construction commencement permit.
In addition, the property owner or contractor must visit the Technical Licensing Section to complete the required application form, the municipality said.
