14,000 pilgrims set for Hajj as Oman mission leaves for Saudi Arabia

Oman’s official Hajj mission for the year 1447 AH departed, marking the beginning of this year’s pilgrimage operations for thousands of pilgrims.

MUSCAT : The delegation is headed by His Excellency Ahmed bin Saleh Al Rashidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and was officially seen off at Muscat International Airport by His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Saeed Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, alongside His Excellency Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman, and several ministry officials.

Upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, the delegation will proceed directly to Mecca, while a separate team from the mission will later travel to Medina.

The Omani Hajj mission will oversee and facilitate services for Omani pilgrims throughout their stay in the holy cities, ensuring the smooth and convenient performance of Hajj rituals.

The mission comprises several specialised teams, including delegations for religious guidance and fatwas, administration and finance, supervision of Hajj companies, medical services, the State Financial and Administrative Control Authority, the Royal Oman Police, and media operations.
