Muscat: The incident reportedly took place late last night in waters near Minab County, where the cargo vessel was struck and caught fire during the alleged attack.
According to Mehr, the commercial boat had a total of 15 sailors onboard at the time of the incident. Ten crew members sustained injuries and were transferred to a hospital for treatment.
Search and rescue operations are currently underway as local response teams continue efforts to locate the remaining five missing sailors.
