Washington: Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the United States was currently in a “good position” in its ongoing discussions with Tehran regarding efforts to end the conflict.
“We’re in a good position,” Trump said. “Right now we’re doing very well, and we have to get what we have to get. If we don’t, we’ll have to take a big additional step.”
Despite the warning, Trump indicated that Iran was showing willingness to negotiate and that an agreement remained highly possible.

“But that said, they want to make a deal. It’s very likely we will make a deal,” he added.
When asked whether the US had set a deadline for Iran to respond to the latest American proposal, Trump suggested that negotiations would continue without a fixed timeframe.
“There is never a deadline; it will happen,” Trump said. “It will happen, but there is never a deadline.”
