MUSCAT : His Excellency Nasr Khamis Al Sawaii held talks with Italian prosecutor Giovanni Melillo, in the presence of the Attorney General of Switzerland, focusing on enhancing legal and judicial collaboration between the two sides.
Discussions covered mechanisms of prosecution work, jurisdictions, and frameworks for mutual legal assistance, alongside emerging transnational threats such as organised crime networks and money laundering.
The meeting also addressed evidence-gathering techniques and explored ways to establish operational coordination in investigation rooms, as well as improving information-sharing mechanisms to support more direct cooperation between authorities.
