Manama: During his official visit, President Zelenskyy met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, where he offered to sign a deal to supply drones to Bahrain, positioning Ukraine as a strategic partner in defence technology.

Highlighting Ukraine’s ongoing conflict experience, Zelenskyy noted that his country faces near-daily attacks and has developed extensive expertise in large-scale defence operations. In a statement shared on social media, he said Ukraine is prepared to share its security knowledge with Bahrain to help strengthen protection of lives and infrastructure.

The discussions between the two leaders also extended beyond bilateral cooperation, focusing on broader regional security dynamics. They addressed the evolving situation in the Middle East and the Gulf, including concerns over Iran’s strikes against Bahrain and other nations.

Additionally, both sides reviewed developments in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route that has seen heightened tensions in recent times.
