Washington: Speaking in the Oval Office during the signing of a proclamation on children’s physical fitness, Trump made strong remarks about the ongoing conflict. He asserted that Iran’s naval strength had been wiped out, stating that “every single ship they had is resting underwater at the bottom of the sea.”
The US president further claimed that Iran has been reduced to operating “little boats with machine guns on the front,” describing the outcome of recent military engagements as a decisive blow. He added that the United States had “beaten them very badly” and said the situation overall was progressing “well.”
Addressing concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Trump took a firm stance, saying the US would not allow Tehran to develop nuclear weapons. “These are sick people, and we’re not going to let lunatics have a nuclear weapon,” he said.

Trump also revealed that US forces were involved in a “small military skirmish,” although he did not provide further details. However, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) had earlier reported sinking at least six small Iranian boats in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
The operations are reportedly part of a broader initiative dubbed “Operation Freedom,” aimed at ensuring safe passage for vessels trapped in the vital maritime corridor, a key route for global oil shipments.
