DUBAI — The UAE’s Ministry of Interior issued a mobile alert across Dubai and Sharjah on Monday warning residents of a potential missile threat, before quickly following up with a second message confirming that the situation had been brought under control.

At around 5 p.m., residents received an emergency notification instructing them to immediately seek shelter in the nearest secure building, avoid windows and doors, and stay away from open areas while awaiting further instructions.

Minutes later, authorities issued an updated advisory reassuring the public that the situation was safe.

“Thank you for your cooperation. We reassure you that the situation is currently safe. You may resume your normal activities while continuing to remain cautious, take necessary precautions, and follow official instructions,” the ministry said.

No further details were immediately provided on the nature of the threat.
