Muscat: In an official statement released on May 3, 2026, the Ministry of Education clarified that the approved school day schedule will continue without any changes, in line with Ministerial Decision No. (2025/103) governing the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The statement comes in response to growing discussions online calling for a reduction in the length of the school day. The Ministry dismissed these claims, reiterating that the current schedule remains firmly in place.

Officials stressed that full adherence to the prescribed school hours is essential to ensure the smooth functioning of the educational process and to meet its intended objectives. The Ministry highlighted that the existing time plan has been carefully structured within the academic calendar and plays a critical role in maintaining educational standards.

Calling for collective cooperation, the Ministry urged students, parents, and the wider community to support consistent attendance and respect allocated learning time. It emphasized that maintaining the full duration of the school day is a fundamental pillar in achieving effective educational outcomes.
