SANYA : The clash began cautiously, with both teams testing each other’s defenses. However, Iran took an early lead in the opening minute following an unfortunate reverse error by Oman’s Muslim Al-Araimi, whose attempted clearance found its way into the net.
Iran maintained relentless pressure throughout the first half, pushing Oman onto the back foot. Despite strong defensive efforts and key saves from goalkeeper Younis Al-Owaisi, Iranian players Shukri Abadi and Mohammad Balturk extended the lead with two late goals, ending the first period 3-0 in Iran’s favour.
Oman responded with renewed energy in the second half, as Abdullah Al-Salti pulled one back to make it 3-1. However, Iran quickly regained control, with Balturk netting his second goal to close the second period at 4-1.
