MUSCAT – His Excellency Qais Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Establishment for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, held talks with His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Sadhan, Vice Governor for Operations at the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, to explore ways of strengthening industrial and customs integration between the two countries.
Central to the discussions was accelerating development of the Special Economic Zone in Al Dhahirah, envisioned as a new engine for intraregional trade linking Oman and Saudi Arabia.
Officials also reviewed trade performance, noting that bilateral trade reached RO 2.46 billion, marking a 13 percent increase, underscoring the growing depth of economic ties between the two neighbours.
The meeting further focused on adopting mechanisms to facilitate the flow of goods through land ports, aiming to ensure smoother logistics and reduce customs clearance times.
