SANYA : Oman national beach volleyball team has advanced to the quarterfinals (round of eight) of the Asian Beach Games currently being held in Sanya, People’s Republic of China. Meanwhile, the national athletics team concluded its participation in the Games without securing any medals.
The beach volleyball team, consisting of the duo Mazin Sulaiman Al Hashmi and Hood Rashid Al Jalboubi, secured its place in the quarterfinals following a straight-sets victory over Kazakhstan in the round of 16. The sets ended with scores of 21–15 and 21–19, allowing the team to continue its campaign in the tournament with confidence as it progresses to the advanced stages.

On the other hand, the national athletics team exited the Games after a campaign that did not yield any medals. The most notable results on the final day came from athlete Alia Faiq Al Mughairi, who finished in a tie for sixth place in the long jump event.

In the relay race, the national team comprising Fatik Adnan Beit Qaisan, Salim Saleh Al Yarubi, Mohammed Obaid Al Saadi and Rashid Huwayshil Al Asmi finished in fourth place. China took first place, Thailand secured second, and Sri Lanka finished third.
