WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump said he had canceled a planned trip to Pakistan by senior adviser Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff for talks related to Iran, according to U.S. media reports on Saturday.
Trump told Fox News that the visit, which was expected to involve diplomatic discussions aimed at easing tensions with Tehran, would no longer take place, Reuters reported.
Pakistan had been seen as a possible venue for backchannel talks as efforts continued to revive dialogue between Washington and Iran amid heightened regional tensions.
