Oman temperatures near 42°C as summer heat intensifies

Temperatures across several parts of Oman have surged past the 40°C mark, signalling the early onset of summer, with the highest temperature reaching 41.9°C in the past 24 hours.

Muscat: Data released by the CAA’s meteorological stations for Friday, April 24, 2026, showed that Dima Wattayeen recorded the highest temperature at 41.9°C, marking one of the hottest readings of the season so far.

Several other regions across the Sultanate also experienced intense heat, with Hamra Al Droua recording 41.0°C, while Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, Al Amerat, and Samail each recorded 40.8°C. Close behind was Fahud at 40.7°C.

In other parts of the country, temperatures remained consistently high, with Muqshin reaching 40.4°C, followed by Haima and Bidiya at 40.3°C, and As Sunainah at 40.2°C. The Wilayat of Bidbid recorded 40.1°C, further highlighting the widespread rise in temperatures.
