From ambition to achievement: MCBS celebrates the graduation of tomorrow’s leaders at its 35th ceremony

MUSCAT: The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) proudly celebrated its 35th Graduation Ceremony under the esteemed patronage of Eng. Alaa Al Din Bait Fadhel, Chief Executive Officer of Omantel. The ceremony brought together distinguished guests, members of the platform party, academic and administrative staff, and the families of graduates in a moment that reflected both achievement and aspiration.

The platform party included Dr. Munir Al Maskari, Executive Chairman and owner of MCBS; Dr. Moosa Al Kindi, Dean of MCBS; Dr. David Decker, President of Franklin University; and H.E. Amer bin Saif Al Hinai, Chairman of the Board of Governance. Their presence underscored the strength of MCBS’s leadership and its commitment to academic excellence and global engagement.

This year’s ceremony holds special significance as it coincides with the celebration of 30 years since the founding of MCBS, marking a legacy defined by growth, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to shaping future leaders.

A total of 311 graduates from the Class of 2026 were awarded their degrees, comprising 166 Master’s graduates from both Arabic and English instruction, including students of the Franklin University MBA programme, alongside 90 Bachelor’s graduates and 55 Diploma graduates. Representing a vibrant and diverse academic community, this cohort embodies MCBS’s dedication to excellence and global engagement. The ceremony was imbued with pride and joy as graduates celebrated the successful completion of their academic journeys and the promising futures that lie ahead.

In his remarks, Dr. Munir Al Maskari, Executive Chairman of MCBS, reflected on the deeper meaning of the occasion, stating:


Graduation is not simply the end of an academic journey; it is the beginning of responsibility. Our graduates leave not only with degrees, but with the values, resilience, and vision required to shape the future. As we celebrate 30 years of MCBS, we reaffirm our belief in education as a force that transforms individuals and drives nations forward.”

The ceremony also featured two valedictory speeches representing the graduating class. Hafsa Al Ameriya delivered a heartfelt address in Arabic, capturing the shared experiences and growth of her peers, while Muzdalifa Al Harthiya delivered an inspiring speech in English, reflecting on ambition, purpose, and the limitless possibilities ahead.

Dr. Moosa Al Kindi, Dean of MCBS, delivered a keynote address highlighting the College’s academic, intellectual, and sustainability achievements, emphasizing its role in advancing knowledge and fostering innovation. He remarked:


At MCBS, we do not measure success solely by academic achievement, but by the impact our graduates create in the world. Our mission is to nurture thinkers, innovators, and leaders who are prepared not only to adapt to change, but to lead it.
