MUSCAT – The governorate stated that the lions were brought by a specialised company to participate in international circus performances as part of the third Al Dhahirah Tourism Festival. Their continued presence at the site is due to logistical challenges affecting their transport amid exceptional conditions currently experienced in the region.
Authorities confirmed that the animals are receiving daily care from specialists and are under continuous monitoring by relevant authorities, with all necessary safety and security measures in place at the location.
The governorate added that coordination is ongoing to facilitate the lions’ transfer to their final destination as soon as conditions improve.
