MUSCAT : The Court convicted the establishment of failing to provide the service properly and not issuing an invoice in Arabic, ordering a combined financial penalty of 500 Omani Rials and a refund of RO 600 to the affected consumer. The defendants were also required to bear the legal costs of the case.

The case originated when the Consumer Protection Authority received a complaint from a consumer who had contracted the firm to design and install a kitchen for RO 1,720, paying RO 600 in advance, with a completion timeline of 45 days. The establishment failed to complete the work on time, prompting the consumer to escalate the matter to the Authority, which referred the case to the Public Prosecution.

After reviewing the evidence, the Court ruled in absentia, imposing fines of RO 500 for inadequate service and RO 200 for the invoice violation, with the lesser penalty merged into the higher fine.
