Oil prices rise amid shipping disruptions  

Oil prices edged higher on Monday as investors awaited clarity on ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, amid persistent concerns over supply disruptions caused by maritime shipping issues.

MUSCAT – Brent crude futures rose 73 cents, or 0.7 percent, to $109.76 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell 26 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $111.28 a barrel.

Trading in Asia showed relatively muted price movements compared with the previous session last Thursday, when WTI surged 11 percent and Brent crude rose 8 percent, marking the largest single-session price increases since 2020.
