MUSCAT – Organised by the Ministry of Education across all educational directorates in the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, the event features broad participation from various government, private, and civil sectors and will continue until April 9.
The event included the inauguration of an accompanying scientific exhibition at the Scientific Discovery Center in the Wilayat of Ibra, featuring several scientific sections in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, with the participation of higher education institutions and schools from across the governorate. Additionally, the event features the ‘Meteorites in Oman’ exhibition by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
Supervised by the General Directorate of Education in North Al Sharqiyah, the week will involve the implementation of numerous programs and activities at multiple locations covering the various wilayats of the governorate. These initiatives aim to spread scientific awareness and culture, ensuring they reach various segments of society throughout North Al Sharqiyah.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of His Excelency Dr. Sheikh Faisal bin Ali Al Zidi, Wali of Al Qabil, in the presence of several specialists and participants from various public and private sector institutions in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.
It is noteworthy that the National STEM Week is a national scientific initiative implemented by the Ministry of Education to enhance science learning, promote scientific culture, and emphasize the importance of science and innovation in rapid scientific and technological progress. Furthermore, it serves as a platform to motivate and support teachers, students, and those interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
