MUSCAT : Authorities said monitoring teams are conducting field inspections in markets and commercial centres across governorates and wilayats to verify the availability of essential goods and ensure suppliers adhere to approved prices. The campaigns also aim to prevent exploitation of recent weather conditions through unjustified price increases or monopolistic practices.
The CPA pointed out that its efforts focus on safeguarding supply chains to ensure uninterrupted access to essential consumer goods, particularly in areas that experienced increased demand during the weather event. The authority is also coordinating with relevant government entities to assess any impacts and address market irregularities.
Officials commended consumers for their awareness and cooperation in reporting violations, stressing the importance of adherence to laws governing the commercial sector and rejecting any attempts to achieve unlawful gains during exceptional circumstances.
The authority reaffirmed that its monitoring and awareness efforts will continue to support market stability and protect consumer rights, in line with Oman Vision 2040 goals of fostering a fair, transparent and sustainable economic environment.
