New Delhi: The flight, a Boeing 737 operating as 6E 579, was travelling from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh to Delhi when a technical snag was detected shortly before landing. As a precautionary measure, the pilots requested priority clearance, prompting authorities at the airport to declare a full emergency.
According to the fire department, an alert was received at 10:54 AM, following which fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the airport. Emergency response teams remained on standby as the aircraft landed safely.
All 161 passengers on board were evacuated without incident, and no damage has been reported. Officials confirmed that the situation was handled in line with established safety protocols.

The aircraft involved was a wet-leased Boeing 737 from Turkey’s Corendon Airlines. IndiGo currently operates five such aircraft on a short-term basis.
In an official statement, IndiGo said the issue was identified shortly before landing and that all necessary procedures were followed.
