MUSCAT : The government of Oman has completed the acquisition of low-cost carrier SalamAir, in a move aimed at strengthening the Sultanate’s aviation sector and supporting its long-term development strategy.

According to a statement carried by Oman News Agency, the acquisition is part of broader efforts to enhance the national aviation ecosystem, improve connectivity, and support sustainable growth across the sector.

SalamAir, Oman’s budget airline, has played a key role in expanding affordable air travel options within the region, operating a network of domestic and international routes focused on cost-efficient travel.

Authorities said the move will help integrate SalamAir more closely into the country’s aviation framework, complementing the role of the national carrier and boosting overall sector competitiveness.
