MUSCAT – The ministry stressed that public awareness is the first line of defence against risks posed by heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and flash floods. Officials advised residents to avoid standing under or near trees, steer clear of wadi streams and water pools, and limit leaving their homes unless absolutely necessary.

Authorities also stressed the importance of adhering to instructions and guidelines issued by relevant government bodies, including emergency services and civil defence teams, to minimise risks and ensure safety during adverse weather events.

The advisory comes as multiple governorates in Oman continue to experience heavy rainfall and storm activity, prompting heightened caution across communities.
